The very first Halacha in ShulchonOruch tells us that MidaBeinonis, the average form of behavior, is to wake up early in the morning, Lih'yoisMeoirerHaShachar, before the break of dawn. There are special people who wake up at midnight in order to recite TikunChatzois, but the average standard Halacha is that one should wake up before AloisHaShachar, the break of dawn. Now, we are well aware that there are not too many people who wake up very early these days, as there are various justifications for this provided in the later Poskim, such as going to sleep late, having the light of electricity, etc. Nevertheless, it is important to wake up at least as close as possible to the break of dawn, and pass our test on the very first Se'if of ShulchonOruch. It should be mentioned that the FrierdikerRebbe speaks very highly about the importance of waking up not later than seven o’clock
