Drinking in the Shower

Drinking in the Shower

In times of old it was common practice to drink water in the steamy bathhouses in order to stay hydrated. There is a discussion in poskim about when to make the brachah before drinking the water; obviously one may not make a brachah in a bathhouse, nor may one make a brachah in one building and begin drinking in another. Therefore, the halachah is as follows: One should make the brachah in the antechamber of the bathhouse and take a drink of water right away, while bearing in mind that they intend to continue drinking while in the bathhouse. The same halachah is relevant nowadays in showers or saunas; however, with the advent of indoor plumbing, most shower rooms, and even many saunas,   have toilets in the room, and some people are particular not to eat or drink in a room that has a toilet in it. 323?1
