How to Daven on an Airplane?

How to Daven on an Airplane

Since it is very difficult to daven Shmoneh Esrei with kavanah (concentration), while standing in flight, as well as the fact that by standing one might be disturbing other passengers, one may sit while saying the Amida. Shmoneh Esrei should be recited with the head slightly bent, sitting straight up—not leaning back with arms on the armrests—feet together, as if standing; one should raise themselves slightly in their seats–or stand up if possible—when one is supposed to bow. At the culmination of Shemoneh Esrei, one should stand up if possible and take three steps back, as usual. It is not necessary to repeat the Amida after deplaning. If there is a minyan on the plane and the participants are concerned that they might drop the Sefer Torah, chas v’sholom, while doing Hagba’ah, they may skip it, and perhaps do it after the flight.  #297?1
