Sharing a Mezuzah with a Non-Jew

100. Sharing a Mezuzah with a Non-Jew

There is a discussion whether a house or business place which is a partnership that belongs to both a Jew and a non-Jew requires a mezuzah. According to one opinion, the reason why a partnership with a non-Jew does not require a mezuzah is due to danger, and therefore in a case where there would be no danger involved, one should put up a mezuzah. The halacha is that in any such cases of a partnership between a Jew and a non-Jew or in a mixed marriage, chas vesholom, one should put up a mezuzah without a brocho. This is due to the fact that there are opinions that such a situation does not require a mezuzah, and therefore to alleviate all concerns, one should put up a mezuzah without a brocho.
